In addition to providing modern storage, NWCL will ease transportation and help farmers, millers, and dealers find financing, insurance, and market services.
Job Responsibility - Agriculture Extension Training Lead - (1 No.)
The training lead will be in charge of strategizing, designing, and ensuring the proper execution of all activities proposed in the project. S/he will compile all the reports from training assistants, gather data and provide feedback. The Training lead will manage the 3-training assistant. The training lead will be based in Kapilvastu with frequent visits to five other project districts Banke, Bardiya, Dang, Kailali and Kanchanpur.
• Work closely with the Program Manager to plan, design and implement project activities.
• Create user engagement tactics to guarantee stakeholder participation.
• Design training to build the capacity target group by the inclusion of innovative approaches to enhance uptake of learning.
• Provide guidance, leadership and coordinate training to farmers through JTAs for adopting improved agriculture methods and post-harvest technologies.
• To guarantee that program objectives and milestones are met, collaborate with the team and develop strategies with active participation.
• Reporting and presentation regularly.
• Other responsibilities as assigned
Qualification
• Prior experience developing and implementing training and workshops and conducting assessments and evaluations of USAID projects is highly desired.
• Degree from an accredited college or university in Agricultural Science, Agricultural Extension, or other horticultural or agricultural development-related fields.
• Ability to design training materials and present them to target groups.
• At least 3-5 years of experience in designing and delivering agricultural training.
• Strong agribusiness and value chain skills.
• Experience in working with a range of relevant stakeholders.
• Strong written and oral English skills, experience in report writing.
• Should have a two-wheeler and license.
Job Responsibilities - JTAS- 3 Personnel
JTA's will be in charge of designing and executing the training at the field level. The JTA will also bring the reports, data and feedback from the field. Each JTA will have to cover two districts.
• Performing extension of agriculture-related activities.
• Organize farmer organizations, follow up on regular farmer gatherings, and conduct training sessions.
• Promote high yield production and establish a demonstration plot.
• Promote climate-smart agriculture practices.
• Liaise with relevant stakeholders (input suppliers, market agencies) in connecting them with farmers.
• Perform activities related to promoting post-harvest agricultural services.
• Collaborate and collaborate with other organizations operating on the ground.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
• JTA in Agriculture with at least three years of experience in providing extension services.
• Able to discover, investigate & make successive plans for project activities.
• Good oral and written communication skills in Nepali and English
• Good understanding of the local language will be preferred.
• Fluent networking and coordination skills.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Should have a two-wheeler and license.
• Prior experience working with USAID projects is highly desirable
